The Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry believes that all families keep their children safe most of the time. We trust that the family is the expert so, when parenting challenges do arise, we focus on helping them achieve their goals. We assist parents in developing the skills and confidence necessary to keep their children safe and extinguish undesired problems in the home.
The Child and Family Worker Program consists of workers who provide a wide range of clinical services. Child and Family Worker services are voluntary with the exception of court-ordered supervision. Child and Family Workers provide intensive support to biological, foster, adoptive and kin homes who are working with the Society. Child and Family Workers also support older youth in care to prepare for adult life and independence.
Clinical Services offered by Child and Family Worker Program include:
- Triple P – Positive Parenting Program: This program helps families build safety, manage behaviors and develop the kind of relationships they hope to have with their children.
- Anger Awareness: This program teaches anger management techniques to children and youth to help them self-regulate their own anger.
- Just for Dads: This program shows fathers how domestic violence as well as their behavior towards their spouse or partner affect their children’s development and well-being.
